Serial entrepreneur and already professor of information systems, network services and security. Founder of I.NET, the first Italian Internet Provider, he held a primary role in the creation and development of the Italian Internet ecosystem.

He was a member of the Italian Parliament in the 17th legislature, a member of the Commission for Internet rights and duties of the Chamber of Deputies and leader of the Parliamentary Intergroup for technological innovation.

He is a member of the scientific committee of Bollati and Boringhieri and of the Leonardo Foundation, a recurrent contributor to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, President of the Steering Committee of the Italian Digital Agency, member of the European Commission’s High-Level Group of Experts on Artificial Intelligence and member of the UN-Sustainable Development Solutions Network Guidance Committee.

Author of numerous articles and contributions and speaker at various conferences on digital technology, regulation and competition; his interest is the intersection between technology, regulation and markets.
