Alex, is a UK qualified architect, a product designer and an entrepreneur. He has committed his time to inspiring a love of nature in those he collaborates with and specialises in environmentally responsive architecture, structures and design. His passion for the natural environment has taken him into the outdoor industry where he now runs a small, innovative manufacturing company that sells tree tents all around the world.
His belief that is you can get people to enjoy the freedoms and magic of nature, we might all join the fight to save it, after all, “ If we’re all hanging out in the trees, they can’t chop them down.”
Summary of Professional Career
2012 – Current: Founder and Director of Tentsile Ltd, a Tree Tent manufacturing and online sales company, dedicated to reforestation and getting people into the trees.
2011: Lead architect for Sky 1 programme, “The Great Treehouse Challenge”, a five month Project to build audaciously complex treehouses for 3 communities in need.
2009 – 2012: Founder and Director at The Greendream Company Ltd, a London based architectural company specialising in the “greening” of urban homes through the implementation of environmentally responsive architecture.
2006 – 2009: Lead architect at Atlas Management, a West London design and build property development firm, specialising in domestic renovations, refurbishments and building automation.
2004 – 2006: Assistant architect at MRDA, a practice dedicated to the restoration and preservation of historical buildings and landmarks.
Summary of Personal Interests
Characteristically, Alex enjoy most nature-based activities, especially hiking, camping, natural swimming and tree climbing. He loves to travel and spend time maintaining close relationships with those he loves. An inventor at heart, Alex enjoys nothing more than to create spaces for people to enjoy, in the most picturesque of places.
