Marco Simonini

Founder & CMO Dishcovery

Marco Simonini was born in Modena in February 1988, where he also grew up.

After graduating in economics and marketing, he completed a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics, which led him to work in China in Shanghai for a leading balsamic vinegar company (Acetum SpA).

After a year spent developing the strategy to enter the Chinese balsamic vinegar market, he returned home and worked for the following year in the same company as area manager for the whole Far-East area. This experience gave him the opportunity to acquire experience and skills in the world of export, production, and b2b.

Following a proposal from Cascino Trading, an Italian company importing and distributing Italian food products in China, he decided to return to Shanghai in search of new stimuli. While there, he built up his know-how in the world of Horeca, leading him, together with his current partner, to identify a major problem in the world of tourism-related catering, serving as a springboard for the creation of Dishcovery.

Marco is currently co-founder and CMO of the start-up which, with its multilingual and interactive digital menus, allows to create a bridge between two of the most important sectors in Italy, food and tourism, supporting the Horeca channel and the whole food chain in one of the most critical issues, the linguistic and cultural barriers.

Marco is now in charge of the management and development of the entire commercial area of the startup, playing management roles useful for the development of his business.
