Travel onlife and the civilisation of (new) machines
In the era of the "new machines", at BTO we address the theme of Travel Onlife starting from the need to bring people back to the centre of the ICT-based society.
We do this by revisiting those who were already asking this question in the 1950s through the magazine "Civiltà delle Macchine", in which Sinisgalli, Ungaretti, and Montale were already discussing the future relationship between man and machine.
Today, in the digital age, the Leonardo Foundation is bringing the magazine back into print, with a couple of extra questions.
We will be reflecting on sociological phenomena and how the "new" machines are changing our civilisation, on the limits we are trying to set, on the risks and opportunities of the immaterial economy in the coming decades and on how all this could affect the tourism sector.
