Antonio Trani

Founder & CEO River Tribe

A professional sportsman who loves adventure, thanks to rafting, a passion born on the Lao river, he went to South America at the age of 21 and from there began an extraordinary journey that took him to some of the most hidden corners of the earth travelling by river.

He works and runs expeditions to Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, USA, Nepal, Morocco, India, Cambodia and Thailand. Some of the expeditions are considered to be among the top 5 most extreme rafting trips in the world, including crossing the Colorado in the Grand Canyon sailing 450 km in 25 days.

Antonio is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, and thanks to this deep experience and passion gained in many trips, he decided to return to Calabria in Laino Borgo, the town where he grew up. There he founded River Tribe, where he put together all the experiences gained during his travels around the world, re-valorising an area that had been abandoned for 20 years and had become a convenient open-air dump. In just 3 years it was defined "1st outdoor centre in Europe" by the National Geographic Traveller UK June edition 2019 for the number of activities proposed eco-sustainable and for the "unique concept in the world".
