In 2020, the number of digital payments will be in excess of 700 billion.

In some destinations, such as China, digital wallets are already the primary form of payment; the Singapore tourist board has started actively promoting biometric check-ins at hotels, meaning without the need for passports or documents, while, much closer to home, Sweden has declared war on cash – over 5,000 citizens have had a microchip implanted under their skin for daily transactions.
